Stormkeep - Lost Relics

$10.00

The EP contains 5 tracks that last for 22 minutes. Right off the bat, the EP largely maintains that grand and epic tone that was present from the previous releases, as shown in the first track "Through Decayed Corridors". The composition of that track and others is relatively simple, but evokes a dark, yet engaging atmosphere that gravitates the listener on exploring the corridors. From there, the EP continues doubling down the epic tone, and while it's decent, I find it a bit too overwhelming at times, such as in the next track "Obsidian Wyvern Gates". I personally like my dungeon synth to be more minimalistic and lo-fi, and we thankfully do get a bit of that in tracks like "Drýcræft II", which perfectly balance the more grand undertones with some minimalistic synths and keyboard that are subtle, but tell a lot about the dark relics of a kingdom. And let's not forget about the last track, which also includes some folk instruments that fit well with the mournful synths, and serve as a good closure of the EP.
