Upon first viewing of the band name Kveldstimer, as well as the cover art and typeface one might be tempted to assume this is simply a blatant Sort Vokter ripoff. On the contrary, this debut mini album is a definite nod to the former legendary ‘necro’ act, but the music within has a certain vibe that serves as a tribute of sorts while standing on its own merits. Thus, ‘Scripture of the Woods’ will surely appeal to fans of such legendary acts as the aforementioned Sort Vokter as well as Ildjarn and the early works of Gorgoroth while maintaining a primitive sound and style all their own.
